What is Sudoku? #6

Sudoku is a logiclly based puzzle game that you place the numbers one through nine in nine by nine square so that one same number is not in the same box, column, and row.For example, in the picture to the right we see the numbers five, three, one, and nine already in a box, meaning that in that box it can no longer hold those numbers.I used to play sudoku more as kid because I liked the challenge and it made me think. You can buy a book solely with a bunch of sudoku puzzles ranging in difficulty or you can now download an app

The difficulty of each game can change depending on the amount of numbers and the positions of where the numbers are placed when you first start. For beginners I would reccommend you start in a four by four square to start off and get the basics of the puzzle down first. The puzzle four by four below is good example of how a four by four can be solved. Can you guess what the bottom right corner number would be? If you guessed two you'd be correct.

As you start getting to the more challenging puzzles, you can start developing different strategies to help you find what numbers go where. In the bottom left image we see a blue box missing three numbers and a two yellow circles. Here we see that in the middle squares there are two fives on the middle and right column. As we know the last five has to be in the top box aon the left column, since six and nine already occupy two of the three boxes the only place five has is the top left.
Sudoku is also very helpful in keeping your mind sharp and help in keeping your concentration. Also a another benefit it has is for eldery people and can help mental illnesses such as Alheimers and Dementia away. for me and other people it also just cure the boredom we have sometimes. I highly reccomend this game to anyone and everyone and hope evryone has as much enjoyment as I do when I complete a challenging Sudoku puzzle.

  1. I loved Sudoku for years and still solve one everyday as part of my evening routine of winding down and de-screening.
